1. Edit your portrait
2. Preparing canvas for painting
3. Load your favorite brushes (find them built in from photoshop OR download from the internet)
CLICK LOAD BRUSHES
4. PAINT on a new empty layer
Create colors from the cutout layer below
Use the BRUSH tool, set to 70% opacity & 70% Flow
Use the OPTION key to sample the colors from below, CONSTANTLY resample (using option) to blend the colors as you paint.

WET Edges:
Be aware of your brush shape & direction
For a "scattered" brush appearance, turn your ANGLE JITTER percentage UP, for a consistent angle, turn the angle jitter to 0%
Use the rectangular marquee tool,
select the detail that you want from the original BACKGROUND LAYER.
Make sure you are on that layer
and hit COMMAND J to make a copy
Pull this layer to the TOP of your layer stack
It will now be on it's own layer... paint directly on this layer with your brushes to capture colors & blend the paint
Repeat these steps for every detailed "feature"
You MAY paint your own hair in... or you may use this "trick"
You may use this technique for HAIR only!
