Use the convert anchor point tool (found by clicking and holding the pen tool on the toolbar) to stretch and pull the handles to convert each geometric (sharp edge) shape into a rounded shape.
CONVERT each anchor point then use the white arrow (direct selection tool)
Once the bird and tree are converted, create a new adobe illustrator document
size: 8.5 x 14 inches (legal size). It can be either landscape or portrait orientation.
Create a scene using the bird and the tree:

- OPEN THE TREE DOCUMENT FROM GROUPSHARES: Convert the tree to align with the example
- OPEN THE BIRD DOCUMENT FROM GROUPSHARES: Convert the bird to align with the example
- Colorize the bird and tree to your liking
- Create a new 14x 8.5 inch (legal size, landscape or portrait) document in Illustrator
- GROUP the TREE vector Select all (command A) then click (command G) to group the tree elements.
- GROUP the BIRD vector Select all (command A) then click (command G) to group the tree elements.
- Copy and paste the tree & Bird into the scene
- Duplicate the bird and the tree 2 times (to duplicate: use move tool plus OPTION button)
- Use illustrator tools to create a scene including the bird and the tree
- The scene must include:
- Tree
- Two Birds
- foreground, middleground and background
- at least one graphic element within the foreground, middle-ground, and background
- Sky (faded to a gradient white near the horizon)
- Ground (colorized with a gradient)
- Decide on a SEASON (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring)
- Pick a season, and colorize it appropriately
- Decide on a scene location: Woods, Beach, City, Space, Moon, Sci-Fi
- Pick a color scheme (build a palette or choose an existing one)
- A path must lead you to the horizon line and converge to one single point on the horizon (one or two point perspective)
- Create perspective by having:
- Create a point on the horizon line and have a path converge to that point
- The "path" be a:
- TRAIL,
- ROAD,
- STREAM,
- SIDEWALK
- large foreground objects
- medium size middle-ground objects
- Small background objects
- The elements within the foreground, middle-ground, and background must be in accurate perspective, they must get smaller as they get farther from the foreground
- Keep items in proportion & proper scale to each element
- Draw at least 3 of your own objects
- You may use only 1 new vector image within your artwork (get it from www.pixabay.com )search vector
- 80% of the scene must be original drawings with the blob tool or pen tool
- Apply gradients to make objects look 3D: Every shape/element must have a gradient color applied to it (except the vector from pixabay)
- Finish with an overlay using a texture file (more details on the how to guide)
- To add an overlay
- Go to File > Place
- Search groupshares in the DIGITAL ART ELEMENTS for the texture overlays
- Resize the overlay to fit over your artwork
- Click on the word: OPACITY on the options bar
- Set the options from NORMAL to one of the blend mode (such as overlay, softlight, lighten)
- File name: Bird-Tree-Scene-Lastname
- Save 2 versions into your DOCUMENTS folder, using these 2 formats
- Adobe Illustrator (To make modifications)
- PDF (to turn in to schoology when you are finished)
