Last Project
Teach us a lesson on a song or poem that has deep meaning and significance to you. It must be school appropriate in diction and content. Create a lesson for us about your song or poem, powered by a presentation, either on Slides or comparable software. Pay attention to the due date for sharing that presentation with me: you may not present until after you have guided me through a draft of it. Remember, your presentation is not your lesson... in effect, it is a sort of outline.
- Start with a journal entry question that will make us engage personally in the words or lyrics.
- Lead a brief discussion on the journal entry, and then introduce your song or poem.
- Play the song for us, or read the poem.
- Explain what deep insights you take from the song or poem.
- Connect these insights to THREE THINGS YOU READ THIS YEAR: use at least one quote from each of these pieces of literature.
- Lead a discussion about the song or poem.
- Conclude with a profound thought about life or literature.
Rules:
- Except when projecting the song or poem, you may never have more than 12 words on a slide.
- You may never read your slide to us.
- Some part of your presentation must include video and/or audio.
- Every slide must have some visual interest beyond words.
- Don't be afraid to make us laugh.
