Core classes

Ouray High School requires four years of English credit to graduate, from among the following core classes:

9th-10th grade:

• Literature and the Hero
• American Literature (REQUIRED)

11th-12th grade:

• Dramatic Literature
• International Literature
• College Writing
• College Literature

College courses offered in alternate years.

Prerequisites for college courses: A's or B's in all previous English courses, plus teacher recommendation.

Not every course is offered every year.
