adapted from: The Hungry Housewife
1 1/2 c. whole milk
3/4 c. key lime juice, fresh or bottled
1/2 c. heavy cream
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
pinch of salt
zest of 2 limes
3 oz. semisweet chocolate chips
3 sheets plain or honey graham crackers
In a large bowl, stir together the milk, key lime juice, heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk and salt. Cover and place in the fridge for two hours or until the mixture is cold. Pour into your ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturers directions. Minutes before the ice cream is done add the lime zest, chocolate chips and broken up graham crackers. Remove from your ice cream makers bowl and place in a freezer safe container. Place in freezer until firm. Serve.
Notes: this recipe completely fills a 1 1/2 quart ice cream maker while churning, especially when you add the chocolate chips and graham crackers.
