Vedantasaram

Vedantasaram - a prakarana grantha on Advaita discusses the Mahavakhya; Tatvamasi contained in Chandogyopanishad forming part of Samaveda. Teh manuscript composed in 1880s went untraceable. The content obtained later from discourses by Swamy to his disciples at diffrent places has been edited ny Vidhyananda Theerthapad and used in 1940s to prepare a manual on Advaitha Vedanta. Later editions of the book further altered teh plan of the work. But the manuscript presently published was preserved by one of his grihastha disciples and it comes to us unaltered and in its original form. Sahithyakusalan Puthezhath Rama Menon has serialized it in a journal edited by him in 1930s. In the period of composition of such works by Swami, knowledge related to spiritual sciences were available only in Sanskrit and was not accessible to the common people who did not know Sanskrit. They were also not permitted to study Vedas. Swami's books were the earliest attempt to bring spiritual knowledge to the marginalized in their language.
