Devimanasapooja Stotram by Chattampi Swami is a simple Malaylam translation and commentary on Sankaracharyar’s Devi Chathushashtupachara Poojastotram. Devipooja has been divided into different diffrent types in accordance with the number of upacharas to be conducted. Of this Sankaracharya has composed the Devi Chathushashtupachara to enable doing Chathushashtupachara mentally. It describes 64 upacharas, which include asanam, swagatham, padyam, arghyam, achamaniyam, madhuparkam and snanam. Sankaracharya has stated that one who recites this stotra in the prescribed way daily and will achieve, dharma, artha and kama, and materialize all his wishes and will achieve moksha. The translation and detailed commentary is the first attempt to make this science transparent to the devotees of Devi who are not knowing Sanskrit and was not permitted study such highly religious texts and rituals.
