Chattampi Swamikal: An All Knowing Consciousness

Guru is the One who sows the seed of knowledge and love in the wilderness of ignorance, waters it for it to germinate and prays for it to grow into a tree full of fruits of transformation.

The hungry, thirsty and tired travelers who are trying to cross the desert under the scorching sun may see in the long distance the great grand tree that spread out its inviting green solace. They take refuge under that tree; the only tree in the wilderness.

When they relax beneath that evergreen shelter and longing for a drop of water to wet their dried out tongue, the gracious tree sheds a fruit right in their hands. They take a bite of the sweet juicy fruit and it quenches their burning fire. In solace they look up at the tree with gratitude, adoration, devotion and love!

The benevolent Master who sowed the seed witnesses this and sheds tears of joy as cooling, re-generating rain. His love has no bounds! He is the all compassing compassion. He is the all-knowing consciousness. He is the creator and the sustainer. He dissolves everything back to him in his silence!

He performs with infants and becomes one among them; with children he is childlike; with wrestlers he is champion; he talks to animals and plants; he sings melodiously and plays drums with the rhythm of life; he inspires one and all, moves with the rich and the poor, the wise and the ignorant, alike.

He plays miracles to generate faith. He appears and disappears; crosses all obstacles; with sand he is a particle, with water he is a ripple, with fire he is the flame, with air he moves as movement and with ether he is the silence!

Such special consciousness descends to the world at times for the upliftment of the society and Sree Chattambi Swamikal was such an all knowing consciousness who stayed among people, with ordinariness, spontaneity, compassion and love.

Let His Knowledge, Compassion and Love continue to inspire humanity for ever!
