Mother's Day Project

The goal is to produce a memorable video for Mother's Day on May 11th so it is due May 9th. You will need a song and enough pictures to play for 5 seconds each for the duration of the song. That is approximately 50 pictures or other visual files. You can either scan the pictures using photoshop to save the files as jpg or you can bring in the files already digitized.  50 pictures are due by this Thursday 5-1 (50pts)

To use the scanner:

1. open photoshop

2. place photos on the scanner bed

3. click file>import>canoscan

4. click scan

5. use the selection tool to select each photo, then cut (ctrl x) then make a new file (file>new) then paste (ctrl v) to the new file.

6. make a folder on your h: drive called mothers day and save each photo with a separate and distinct file name.

Connect to your h drive on the mac by clicking go>connect to server at the top of the screen when in the finder. Enter smb://10.121.0.8/studentID# and enter in your id and password when prompted. Copy the folder from your h drive to the mac hard drive under your period user login and begin assembling the files on a timeline in Final Cut Pro. Save a project file in the same folder that was copied over. Import the files (file>import) and arrange them along with your music choice. You'll need an mp3 file on a flash card or a cd that can be ripped, or you can use something from soundtrack.

When finished export the quicktime file for youtube or for DVD.

For DVD: Open iDVD and pick a template. Drag the quicktime file into the iDVD window and into any dropzones for video. Change the text to what you want. Ask me for a DVD and click the circle at the bottom of the window to burn.
