Movie Trailer
🎯 Objective: You will be able to create a well edited movie trailer that showcases strong editing skills and tells a same story by logging footage with keywords and replacing the video of a movie trailer with footage from a different film.
🚦 Requirements:Â
The Movie trailer of choice will set the groundwork for your project.
Watch the movie trailer of choice, and then use only the audio from that trailer. You CANNOT edit the audio. The audio must remain the same as the original trailer.
You will have a limited number of class periods to work on this project. Please manage your time wisely.
The only allowable transitions are the CUT and the DISSOLVE. Any other transition will result in a failing grade.
You can use black pauses, as long as you use a dissolve to transition from those two shots.
Any flash frames inserted in the final product will result in a failing grade. To avoid this, please be vigilant in reviewing your edits.
📋 Procedures:
Review all the movie and trailer options to decide on your combination.
Go to TVTECH/21-22/TrailerFiles to pick a trailer and a movie.
Use the Handshake Tutorial (link below keywording starts at 6:30) for keywording tips.Â
Turn in a screenshot of your keywording . (command +shift +4 then drag the box around the keywords) . The screenshot will be on your desktop.
Watch the trailer thoroughly (multiple times if needed) and take notes on sounds, lines of dialogue and imagery that you will look for in your movie.
Watch the entire movie, pausing frequently to log your shots using the log sheet.
Create a new event and project in your FCP library and import your trailer and movie.
Bring the audio of the trailer into Audio 1.
Mute the audio in Video 1 and begin editing the video from the movie into your video.
Watch and review your progress. Avoid flash frames.
