Handshake Project

Students learn which shots to film when covering action between 2 characters.  Next they learn how to edit with matching action, continuity and pace.

Storyboards and Plot Plan

Storyboards top right, plot plan bottom left

First watch examples and write down which angles to shoot based on what we learned with our fixed shots project.

Groups of 3, 1 camera operator for all shots to 1 sd card.

Next film all the shots from each angle with overlapping action (perform the whole action of the entrance, handshake and exit with each shot)

Next each student will need a copy of the footage, create a new event (File>New>Event) name it DateHandshake.

Import to each students Lacie Drive, then create 3 different "Projects" (HandshakeUnedited, HandshakeEdited, HandshakeEssential) with different pacing: unedited, edited at appropriate pace, then essential frames edit.

We will be looking for "match action" edits and "continuity".  Once approved copy from "edited" to "essential" and trim the clips to the lease amount of frames while still maintaining continuity and match action.

You can copy (command+c) then paste (command+v) the clips from one "project" to another.  It might be easiest to copy from the "unedited" to "edited" project, then edit the footage until it's approved by Mr. P.

Once approved, export the "edited" and "essential" and upload to google classroom as an attached file, then "turn in".
