Using Facebook as an E-portfolio: A wise choice?

What I have been thinking about embarking opon doing is to use what Facebook has been offering as a folio or portfolio. I have heard about e-portfolio for sometime but I must admit that I have not actually tried it out. Now, as Head of the English Department, I would like to seriously implement it. --- Is it a wise way to use Facebook to store and organize one's records of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of an individual student?

I consider myself a newbie when it come to social media like Facebook. I am aware of another provider in the similar industry --- LinkedIn but I found it to be "too academic" for my students who are young and prefer something more interactive and in vouge. I am quite certain that Facebook provides both "private' and 'public' options to its users. AM i RIGHT? I am aware also that Facebook has features that support time-oriented event organization and its storage capacity offering is at a satisfactory level.
