High-Speed Railways and Safe & Efficient Trains: The Future Lies in Thailand's Prudent Intellectual Capability

The Republic of France has expressed her keen interest in joining the bid to develop Thailand's railway & train systems. This is a good sign, as we all know that France is second to none in her rail and train technologies. Thailand has leaned towards offering the big cake to the Republic of China, citing various 'convenient' reasons. Japan is also a nation successful in their railway and train engine technologies.

What this article aims to is to raise the point of Thailand being fair to all its 'good friends' . This is a crucial step in the development of Thailand's future and its place in the world. Thailand must exercise its ability to make the best decisions for the future. Any attempt to corrupt is a crime against the Thais and their past and future generations.

What Thailand should be doing, in my opinion, is to delay the decision to offer the right to any particular company to construct the railways. Hiring professional consultants and conducting careful studies are wiser ways to go ahead.

France, Japan, China --- should be given an equal chance of being selected as the bid winner. So far, the criteria and 'modus operadi' of the selections and evaluations are dubious. Let make a better choice and remember that Thai citizens and Asean ones, as well as global citizens deserve to have the safest and most efficient trains to travel in Mainland Southeast Asia.

The latest visit to Japan of the Yingluck administration has confirmed that Japan is keen to develop the rail system in Thailand and Asean.  Below is a sentence from the news: "The PM's secretary-general said Japanese investors also expressed interest in new satellite projects and high-speed trains in Thailand."
