Cliff Guard on active service during WW2
It is with great sadness that we heard the news that Grafton Pearce Maggs has passed away on 13th November 2022.
An amazing person, a local Mumbles Boy, who led a long and eventful life. He has left behind so many stories, which could make you laugh and cry. His book 'Didn't Quite Make It!' is a treasure trove of memories.

Editors Note: An authority on Morfydd Owen is Dr Rhian Davies, author of a fine bi-lingual, profusely illustrated book Yr Eneth Ddisglair Annwyl/Never so pure a sight, first published by Gomer in 1994. Dr Davies gave a lecture on Morfydd Owen at Swansea University on the eve of the centenary of Morfydd's death, and the following day she unveiled the blue plaque at Thistleboon (two days later she unveiled another in Treforest on her birthplace).
