has had a long history and this page records the demolition of the building.
But first, we record its progress from its first home, a hut at Oystermouth Station Square.
As the first Royal British Legion Hut was situated behind the Mumbles Pharmacy later Boots the Chemist, opposite Mumbles Methodist Church (and Theos Coffee and Gift Shop).

The site of the hut was marked by a raised garden, between the Tivoli car park and the access lane behind Boots the Chemist. I understood that it was not developed, as the ownership of the land was unknown.
This was used for local theatrical events, such as by 'Madam Stockton Presents' and as a Hospital, treatment centre by The Red Cross, during WW2. Seen in the photos below.

On the left of this family photo of Oystermouth Station Square is a Newspaper and Bookstall, with a glimpse of The Royal British Legion now behind Boots.

So Fortes much has changed since the later photo was taken.
But unfortunately we do not have a date! But will add it here when know.
The building 'The Legion' moved into has a long history, as is shown in this photo taken in 1855.
First named Dunns Cottage, then Marine Villa it finally became known as Mumbles Royal British Legion.
