Year- Long Summary: This 2017-2018 year of Foundations Of Art has been cool. I made a new friend and have learned a lot of things I didn't know. Also learned how to use materials correctly so my pieces would come out better. I'm very glad I took this class because it has taught me to get out of my comfort zone with designs and go with whatever idea I have in my head so I can try to pass my assignment in on time. I struggled with getting things in on time because I wouldn't work on them outside of class. I would always work on them in class though but I just never had enough time in class to get it done.

Some of my favorite assignments were the mixed media and linear perspective, I've drawn things like my mixed media project but I never knew how to draw linear perspective or 1 point perspective. I honestly never even knew both of those were a thing until I learned it in Foundations Of Art. I have learned how to use graphite pencil correctly like blending and shading and pulling up color to get the right type of grey. I have learned how to use charcoal without it being blotchy and I have learned how to carve into linoleum board correctly and to carve into clay which I've never fully done before except for writing my initials in it.

Some things I did struggle with big time this year was getting my assignments in on time. But I got most of my assignments in. Even though by the last 3-4 months of school I have been slacking off in this class. I gave up on the wire sculptures because I just couldn't get them to stand up right, even though I tried a few times I just couldn't. I started to slowly bring my year 1 grade up to a passing grade and I'm happy I did that. I love art but some of these assignments were pretty difficult for me. But overall this year has been really fun and I'm definitely thinking of doing other art classes in the future.
