Ruddy Duck

Artist Statement: The Duck Stamp assignment is an assignment where we had to pick a kind of duck to draw. I had a lot of trouble with this assignment last year during FOA. I decided to pick another duck, I picked the Ruddy Duck. I chose this duck because the beak was a very light blue. A lot of ducks you don't see them having a light blue beak. So I thought that was pretty cool about it. Something I struggled with was drawing the duck and figuring out what I was going to do with the background. I did not like how the sharpie came out and especially the background because of the lines. This could've been better if I didn't mess up on my first draft. I had to rush to do this so it looked done but I know that I could've done a lot better.
