Sustained Investigation #8

This work is called the kings crown. The idea behind this work is based on my topic of what would objects look like deformed and unnatural. I had a story in my mind while painting this: a king is falling and to symbolize on his fall off I deformed and vintaged his crown making it broken and old. This work relates to the question because that the crown is deformed in an unnatural way and shaped weirdly and unnatural.

The work is made using materials like acrylic paint on canvas with a little of black sharpe to darken some white spot and shadow also a 4b pencil for completing some of the shading, and I drew a crown, inspired by the chrome looking stool next to me and I thought of a gold chrome type crown. The background is inspired by a character from a cartoon I forgot, making a grovy sad background adding emotion.

I used the elements of shape, form. And I used the principle of design of space by making the crown in the middle and shading on the bottom so it looks like its not floating in midair. If to change or continue on this work, I think I will add some jewelry to make it stand out and give more character to it.
