Sustained Investigation #6

size 7x9

I call this work Balloons. The idea behind this work is based my topic question of the projects, which is "What if objects go upside down?" I thought of balloons and decide to make them lay on the ground instead of floating. The teacher also said to be more repetitive so I added more balloons and to make the topic stand out more, I added a few flatted balloon that are floating. Making the scene more dramatic around the topic of being upside down.

The work is made using acrylic paint on acrylic paint paper. Although I used pencil to sketch out the example. For the balloons I used the classic red for easy represent. I also added in a upside down tree to add background and a kid holding the balloons. For the rest of the background I painted it off white brown to give a gloomy feeling to it.

I used the elements of shape, form and balance. And I used the principle of design of balance by making the balloons out the edge from the right and the tree out the left making the kid right in the middle and having the ground taking 1/3 of the space and all left was sky. My project evolves from having 2 balloons to having over 6 of them. For next time ill enlarge the art and focus on more simple and less objects in one art.
