Kids outside at regulation playing hacky sack
Hacky Sack is a game where you kick a stuffed ball in a circle. You can't use your hands, but you can use your chest, feet, head, or anything that's not your hand. Most of the time, it's getting kicked around with your feet. One person will throw it up and then try to hit it with their chest, then their feet. With their foot, they will try to pass it to another person to keep the round going. Also, you can have as many people as you want playing at once, but if you have lots of people, then it's going to be hard for others to get a turn before the round is over. To make sure you don't drop the ball, you should kick it with your inside foot instead of the top.
Hacky sack originated in 1972 in Oregon City. It became most popular in 1990, especially for kids in middle and high school. During their free time, they would play hacky sack all the time. It was created for a man named John Stalberger to rehabilitate a knee injury.
Hacky sack has been becoming very popular this past month for no specific reason, for the first time in almost 30 years! There's usually a group of 5-15 kids in a circle playing this. At regulation break, there are usually a few groups of people playing outside. Maelee Mansion said, “ I was walking outside, and I remember seeing lots of people playing this.”
