Have you ever wanted to support local artists but didn't know where to go? Well, the IN store is the place to be! They have the newest and latest art pieces from different artists around Monroe County. The store is open Wednesday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The original location of The IN Store
The store first opened in the fall of 2022. It was originally on the line of stores that includes IGA, Pizza X, and China Star Buffet. They have since relocated the store to the Ellettsville Square, right next to Caffeinated Cook, in the summer of 2025. Chantelle, a volunteer at the IN store, said,” The owner had found this place,e and it was for sale, le and it just fit the idea of the store more than the other place, and it fitted what we sold too.”
The store doesn’t just support Monroe County artists, they support other small business owners in other counties around Indiana! Chantelle said,” We have different counties around Indiana. We have some vendors that go into the Martinsville and Indianapolis area, and we try to stay local in Indiana. The owner also invites some of the vendors to do little pop-ups. The vendors come and either showcase their talent, hold workshops, or sell some of your stuff in person.”

They sell things like decorations, candles, clothes, and jewelry. No,w of course we can’t end without talking about why they started the business. Chantelle said,” The owner was a crafter herself, and then, slowly, she turned that into a store and invited vendors in to sell. The owner has a really big passion for small businesses, and that led to the IN store being created.”
All in all, if you're there to browse, look for a gift, or just want something for yourself. The IN store is the place to be. On March 1st, there will be a little terrarium bar where you can pick out a teapot and take it home. It will include buying a ticket to do it,t though. There are also some seasonal events every now and then. Have fun shopping at the IN store.
