I’m sure you have been to or have heard about Starbucks or Dunkin, but have you ever been to Swig? Swig is a very popular place to get your drinks and even some sweets. They are popular for their dozens of unique and highly customized dirty sodas. Even the swig employees love their amazing and delicious dirty sodas.
Speaking of their dirty sodas, how did they get their name? In fact, what was the idea when the founder was thinking of a soda shop? Let's answer all of these questions now. In 2009, Nicole Tanner, the founder of Swig, moved to St. George, Utah. Once Nicole found an old, worn-out building in 2010, they asked their landlord, and he thought it was crazy, but they finally got him on board. When everything was all said and done and the building was good to go, they sold 1 dollar drinks for the first couple of months. One of the reasons that they opened swig was because at the time there was a nationwide recession. They needed a way to provide for their family and others needed a pick-me-up through the day because they were also trying to find ways to provide for their families. Swig is all around the United States. In Indiana, there are 4 Swig locations, and they are all next to or near Indianapolis. The goal is to bring Swig to areas where Swig is not commonly known, like in Bloomington or Spencer.
Many people who go to Swig get a variety of things because of their wide-ranging menu. But overall, some fan favorites include Texas Tab( Dr. Pepper with coconut cream and vanilla), Raspberry Dream ( raspberry puree Dr. Pepper, and coconut cream), and Shark Attack ( lemonade and Sprite mix with blue raspberry syrup and a gummy shark on the top). Other menu items people like are their Dirty Sodas. The original dirty soda is called The Founder. The Founder is a drink made with sugar-free coconut syrup, Diet Coke, lime juice, and coconut cream. Some non-drink-related items on their menu include their chocolate chip cookies, pretzel bites, sugar cookies, and, because it is fall, they serve a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. On their menu, they also have a special category for a type of drink called revivers. These drinks have energy drinks in them and are called revivers because of the energy drink they contain.
During the fall, Swig offers some limited-edition drinks and food. For drinks, some of the new releases include the Spice Spice Baby. A swig employee says, “Right now the most popular fall drink would probably be the spice spice baby. It gets vanilla with cinnamon, pumpkin pie sauce, and then a cinnamon stick. While also getting half-and-half cream. Spice Queen is another new drink. This drink is made of Coke, pumpkin spice, pumpkin pie sauce, pumpkin spice creamer, and pumpkin drizzle. Another new drink is called Cin-Sational, with the fall weather, the perfect flavor is pumpkin, and this drink is loaded with pumpkin flavor. Every aspect of this drink screams fall with all the pumpkin flavor. Pumpkin Please is their last new fall release. This drink is made with frozen hot chocolate and has many pumpkin aspects. On the food side of the fall releases, Swig offers mini pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. These cookies are loaded with a rich pumpkin and chocolate flavor, and it is perfect for welcoming in the fall season.
Swig has become a very popular spot for delicious and unique drinks and treats. They started in St. George, Utah, and their business quickly expanded and is now nationally known. Swig has become an amazing drink spot and they hope to expand their business even further and build more locations in other places throughout the entire country.
