Well, we all have just experienced our first Synchronous learning day for the first time in our school careers. So now the question is, which way do we like best? I feel that a normal E-learning day (Asynchronous) is the best option. You may be asking why; here is the answer. Firstly, you don’t have to meet at specific times to do your work; it's not as stressful to get your work done, and lastly, you don’t have to worry about distractions because video isn’t required on an asynchronous day.
Not having to meet at specific times allows you to not only work on whichever class you want to work on first but also gives you the ability to move on to each class faster or slower, depending on how you like to work. Liz Garguilo, a 5th-grade student at Edgewood, agrees that Asynchronous is better for many reasons. “I like E-Learning better because I can get my work done in the morning,” Liz states. Being able to work on your classwork without worrying about which class you need to go to next is helpful, allowing you to be more productive and save time to enjoy the rest of your day. You also don’t technically have to start your work until a little before 11 because that's when your attendance is supposed to be submitted for you to be counted present for the day. So if you like taking your time or you just like to catch your z’s, Asynchronous works great for that too.

Having a little break from attending school in person to having a elearning day allows your day not to be so stressful. The workload usually gets lighter as teachers only assign about 20-25 minutes of work instead of a normal 45 minutes (normal class period time) of work or more. But because school starts later, not only do you have shorter classes, so you don’t get as much work, but you have more time to sleep in and gain energy and the strength needed for your general health and even your education.

Not being on a video call for every class and just having to do some assignments is great. After all, you don’t have to worry about there being distractions when you are trying to ask a question or when listening to a teacher's lecture because video isn’t required on a plain e-learning day. Internationalvla.com states, “Students are not distracted by what others are doing in their classes and can focus on the concepts they need to learn.” Most teachers even leave an announcement on Google Classroom saying you can join a Google Meet or email them if you have questions, so you can still get assistance when you need it without all the distractions or if you're just afraid to ask in front of the class.
As you can see, there are many reasons and examples as to why a normal E-Learning day can benefit your day, but these are just a few of the many reasons why I feel Asynchronous is better than Synchronous.
