On August 29th, EJHS hosted its annual glow dance. The glow dance was filled with lots of glowing fun and yummy food! The first yearly Glow Dance was held after school on November 22, 2019. Back then, it was called the Glow Ball. Mrs Schlemmer, student council leader and a counselor at EJHS, said, “ I think this glow dance was on par, if not better than the previous ones. I think our decorations in the cafeteria were a step up. We had so much food. We had leftover food. And that was really nice.” This year's annual glow dance was better than ever!
Every year, EJHS has a glow dance. The glow dance is a fun dance that is held every year. The student council members, PTO, and adults at EJHS help set up the dance every year. The PTO is a big part of the glow dance; they mainly help with providing all the decorations and other materials. The dance is held in the gym, where you can find DJ Grile playing awesome songs and many disco lights, which make your neon clothes light up! You can also look for dance circles that people form when DJ Grile puts on a popular song! Many people like to dance to fun songs such as Cotton Eye Joe and show choir songs. You may also find a very colorful photo booth located in the outside hallway by Mrs Grimes' room.

When you signed in, you may have gone through the lunchroom and seen all of the yummy food and the airbrush station. The dance was held in the gym right by the lunchroom, so when you wanted a little break from dancing, you could’ve gone across the hall into the lunchroom. Whether you went to quench your thirst or even eat pizza, the cafeteria was full of good food, candy, trinkets, and an airbrush station. Mrs. Oresco maintains the airbrush station and uses the funds to raise the money she needs to adopt 3 kids.
While many students attended the dance this year, the real question is, what did people think about it? Bella Gallagher, an 8th grader at EJHS who attended the dance, said, “I like how the dance was decorated, and how they played many different songs so that there was at least 1 song that everyone liked.” Lydia, a 7th grader, said, “I liked how we were able to choose songs that that came on, being with all my friends and the food, it was really good.” Briela a 6th grader said, “My favorite part was all the lights, and how lots of people wore neon.” Based on the responses given from both 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students, it appears that the dance was a great time this year!
The EJHS students that attended the dance had a lot of fun
Overall, the glow dance has been an exciting experience for Junior High Students at EJHS. Whether you went for the food, airbrush station, or just the dance, it was most likely a fun experience for every student who attended.
