Laufey, an Icelandic singer came out with her third studio album on August 22nd, 2025. This album follows her award winning album, Bewitched. The tracklist is Clockwork, Lover Girl, Snow White, Castle in Hollywood, Carousel, Silver Lining, Too Little, Too Late, Cuckoo Ballet (Interlude), Forget-Me-Not, Tough Luck, A Cautionary Tale, Mr. Eclectic, Clean Air, and Sabotage. Her album has been successful in not just the US but also the UK. She’s made no.4 on Billboard 200 and no. 3 UK charts making it her first album to make top 10 in the UK. She got no. 2 on albums chart sales. In total 17,756 units from that include CDs, Vinyls, Cassettes, and Digital Downloads. The album within the same day got 12 million views on Spotify. The most streamed song on the album is Lover Girl which was released as a single beforehand. But Laufey wasn’t the only artist who released an album on the 22nd.

Sombr also came out with a new album that dropped on August 22nd called I Barely Know Her. This album includes a previous single, Back to Being Friends, released December 27th, 2024. This single made significant progress on the billboard chart reaching no. 1 on Billboard Alternative Airplay on its 10th week. It also includes previous singles, Undressed on March 21st, 2025 that reached no. 1 on Hot Rock & Alternative songs and 12 to 12 on July 24, 2025 which reached #7 on Top Rock & Alternative songs. This album also includes, Crushing, I wish I knew how to quit you, canal street, dime, come closer, we never dated, and under the mat. The album reached #14 on Billboard 200 and #2 in Top Rock & Alternative Albums. It also reached the top 5 in 5 international countries and top 10 in 7. The album has over 1 billion views on Spotify. But another artist dropped an album on August 22nd. 

On August 22nd , Deftones dropped their 10th album named Private Music. This album consists the songs, my mind is a mountain, locked club, ecdysis, infinite source, souvenir, cXz, i think about you all the time, milk of the madonna, cut hands, ~metal dreams, and departing the body. Milk of the Madonna and My Mind is a Mountain being lead singles for the album. My mind is a mountain came out July 10, 2025 was their first ever number 1 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay. Milk of the Madonna released August 8th, 2025 and debuted on six Billboard lists and managed to get top 10 on 3 of them. But one thing interesting about one of these song names is ecdysis, which means shedding skin and the cover of the album is a snake. The album placed no. 5 on Billboard 200.
