Darian Devries 

Darian wasn't always the famous basketball coach he is today. He was raised by his father.  He had four siblings, one being a former NFL star, Jared DeVries, who played for the Detroit Lions. He has two kids, a son, Tucker DeVries, who is also a college basketball player, and a daughter, Tatum DeVries. Darian also has a wife, Ashley DeVries they have been married for 27 years. 

Darian was hired at IU in March of 2025. This is also his first season coaching at IU. Ellie Lester, “I can really tell how much Darian has disciplined his team an gave it all of his time.” He has been coaching for over 25 years and is planning on continuing at IU.  Darian has also coached at  West Virginia University and Drake University. He was also one of the assistant coaches at Creighton University.  He also played college basketball at the University of Northern Iowa.

The IU basketball season is coming to an end in March. But as of right now, IU is ranked 10th in the Big 10. They have played 15 games and lost 8. Sadly, IU did not make it to the March Madness Tournament. So that means they will have their last game on March 7, 2026 aganist the Ohio State Buckeyes. IU only has 8 Big Ten games left this season.
