Have you heard of the Cubs' new player? This player is the All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman. He should be very beneficial to the cubs this season. They have been needing a better player because of their not-so-great previous seasons.
Alex Bregman was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 30, 1994. His parents are Sam and Jakie Bregman. Sam was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Maryland, and Jakie grew up on Long Island, New York.
This is an Alex Bregman card
Alex played college ball before the MLB at Louisiana State University. And he was the 2013 and 2014 All-American, 2013 SEC Freshman of the Year. He started playing shortstop at LSU for 189 games. In three seasons at LSU, he batted .337, and in those seasons, he had 21 home runs, 66 stolen bases, and 148 RBI.
Overall, Bregman had a great time in college ball, but shortly after, he went to the MLB, and the Houston Astros signed him. Bregman played for the Astros for nine seasons from 2016 to 2024, before signing with the Boston Red Sox for 2025. During his season with the Red Sox, his batting average was .273. One of his best batting years since 2019.
Bregman was signed to the Cubs as a free agent for a five year $175million contract. This deal was more than the Red Sox $165million contract that they were giving him previously. Mr. Norris says “Alex should help the cubs have a good season” So he has moved to Chicago for a better deal, hoping that he could help them improve.
In conclusion, Alex Bregman should be very beneficial to the Cubs this season. Since the Cubs got Alex, they now should have a good right-handed batter with good power, also a 3rd baseman who holds two World Series titles this season.
