You may have heard of the very popular game, “Roblox.” Roblox has been surging in popularity lately, coming in with world records in the number of players. However, Roblox has been going through trouble lately due to taking action that lessened child safety on its platform. This action has sparked millions of people to take the side of one creator in his war on Roblox, that creator being none other than “Schlep.”

Schelp is a YouTube creator who loves Roblox. He made it his mission to make the game safer for everyone by [working with police], catching child predators on Roblox. However, a few weeks ago, Schlep received a cease and desist from Roblox authorities and was banned from the platform. A cease and desist is where you threaten someone with lawsuits if they continue a specific action or conduct [Legal Information Institute]. Roblox demanded that Schlep stop exposing the clear problems with their safety systems. Schlep has claimed that Roblox authorities care about the company’s profit more than the safety of children.
In retaliation for this, the public has done many things to support Schlep. Many Youtube Roblox creators have left the star program. The Roblox star program was an exclusive partnership between Roblox and famous Youtubers who made original roblox videos[roblox fan wiki]. Youtubers like Kreetcraft encouraged others to leave the program. The public has also created a petition for the Roblox CEO to step down, which already has more than 200,000 signatures. Mrs. McGlothlin said, “Roblox should be allowed to continue as a game; however, they should monitor the content on their platform way more to catch the early signs of child predators.” Since the controversy was so widespread, a man named Chris Hansen has been investigating Roblox. Chris Hansen is one of the most famous child predator catchers ever. He is most well-known for his hit show, “To Catch a Predator.” In which he worked with the police to lure in and arrest predators. So this is a big deal for Schlep, because he is directly working with him.

Roblox stock is crashing down
Roblox has taken hit after hit in this situation. After the cease and desist was sent to Schlep, Kuwait, Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, and Oman have all banned Roblox due to safety concerns. And this has quickened the process of the UK and US creating laws on censorship, which they have been suggesting for a while. Because of this, investors have ditched Roblox. This has led to Roblox losing twelve billion dollars in value[tweaktown]. For reference, this is that number: 12,000,000,000. Which is horrible news for the corporation.
All in all, everyone should strive to make the world a safer place, especially for children. So, for Roblox to ban the person trying to keep children safe from child predators is completely unacceptable, and the community is demanding that Roblox fix its ultimately broken safety system.
