When you finish a book or book series, have you ever wondered what to read next? Well The Inheritance Games is a book series of 9 books (if you include all the spin-offs and prequels) written by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. But what is the Inheritance Games?
The Inheritance games is about a 17 year old girl named Avery who inherits 46.2 billion dollars along with private islands and a huge estate called Hawthorne House that resides in Texas from a man named Tobias Hawthorne. Along with the billions of dollars, there is a catch. She has to stay at the Hawthorne house for a year along with all of Tobias’s disinterested family members, including 4 of Tobias’s grandsons. This book does have some mentions of drinking and kissing, but nothing too serious, most people rate this book for ages 12+.

When Avery is all of a sudden thrown into a mansion she meets a couple of people: Nash, Grayson, Jameson, and Xander, the four Hawthorne brothers, which are Tobias Hawthorne’s grandsons. Zara and Skye, Tobias’s daughters, and Alisa is her new lawyer. And Oren is the head of the security team. Avery has an old childhood friend named Max (Maxine), and an old sister named Libby. Nash has brown hair and hazel eyes, rides a motorcycle and always wears a cowboy hat and boots. Grayson has blonde hair and grey eyes and is a very emotionally complex character. Jameson also has blonde hair but has dark green eyes, and is always looking for a game, a challenge. Xander is the only Hawthorne that is black and has brown eyes with brown curly hair.
Jennifer Lynn Barnes the author of this all. She published her first book when she was nineteen years old. She has written more than 25 YA (young adult) books. She works as a professor teaching psychology and professional writing. Which is why most of her books are based on psychology.

As said before, including prequels and the spin off series (the grandest games) there is 9 books total. The order of the books is The Inheritance Games, The Hawthorne Legacy, The final gambit, The brothers Hawthorne, The Grandest games, Glorious Rivals, The gilded blade and the prequel The same backwards as forward and games untold. The most recent book was the Gilded Blade which was released on July 14th of this year. Mrs. Cowden, who is a 7th grade ELA teacher says “Inheritance Games is one of my top five favorite series. This book had me hooked right from the beginning and made me want to continue reading. This series was so great that I started her other series titled "The Grandest Game," and it's just as good!”
The spin off series called The Grandest Games
This book series was lots of peoples top book series around the US and has many interesting storylines. All of the books in this series have AR tests (mostly around 11-16 points). If you do end up reading the book series there is another series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes that is called “The Naturals” that is highly recommended by many of the Inheritance games readers.
