To celebrate the start of the year, the Glow Party was the best way to do it. They had good food, played popular songs, and had a glowing good time. At the glow party, you could use tickets instead of money; 1 ticket equaled 1 dollar. You could also just pay with cash.

Like every middle school dance, it had food. The main food was Nachos with cheese that were sold for 3 tickets or 3 dollars. There was also candy (there were a lot of candy brands like Kit-Kats and Twix) that sold for 2 tickets, except Ring Pops, which sold for 1 ticket. They also had a variety of sodas, from root beer and Dr. Pepper to Sunkiss and Coca-Cola, all of which sold for 1 ticket. If you just wanted a snack, there were chips that would also sell for 1 ticket. Food and drinks weren't the only things they had; they also played popular songs and had fun things to do in the gym. A 7th grader named Issac England said that “The atmosphere was awesome .”
The Glow Party had lots of popular songs played, like the Macarena and Cotton Eye Joe. By the music speakers, there was a Chromebook that you could request songs on that had a chance to be played. The songs could only be played if they were appropriate and if they fit in the current music's flow. There was also a 360 dance camera that cost 1 ticket. You would put your phone on a stand, and it would spin around you and your friends; you could make funny faces or dance. A 7th grader named Amelia Guinn said “I liked that you could make a cool video on the 360 dance camera.” There could only be 3 people doing this at a time. The bleachers were out, so people could sit and talk or be on their phones.

After the Glow Party ended, there was huge traffic. Some people had to wait 45 minutes to get in their guardian's car and go home. Near the end of the Glow Party, there was an issue in the gym that made the lights turn on slightly, but it was addressed quickly. Overall, the Glow Party was a success.
Altogether, the Glow Party was a great time. There was food, drinks, and dancing fun! Everyone who went had an amazing time.
