We hear about all these fun plans from students for their summers, but what about the teachers? Sure, students may go camping or do summer camps, but what are the teachers doing? Believe it or not, teachers are doing plenty of fun things! Mr. Woodcock is going on a trip to Tokyo, the Musselwhites are heading to Hawaii, and Mrs. Ayer is going on camping trips in Kentucky and Michigan! Now, what are teachers doing over summer break?

The 6th grade teachers are doing some interesting things! During summer break Mrs. Ayer is going camping with her family. Mrs. Ayer says, "This summer my family and I are camping in Kentucky and Michigan, along with a few other trips.” Last year Mrs. Ayer’s family did a lot of camping, baseball and swimming. Mrs. Ayer says, “ The kids are doing some camps and Henry is playing travel baseball.” Mr. Straw is coaching ESC (Edgewood Swim Club) lessons, while his wife, Mrs. Straw is doing a lot, including counseling camp in New Orleans, a Post Malone and Jelly Roll concert, and some relaxation in Wisconsin. Their son is going on a trip to Germany, and their daughter will be a 6th grader next fall. A lot of fun things are happening for Mrs. Ayer and the Straws!
The 8th and 7th grade teachers are doing fun things too! Mrs. Beeman planned a family vacation to Washington D.C. Mrs. Beeman says, “ My kids are grown, but my youngest just graduated from college. We are planning on one last big family vacation before she begins her career as an RN at Riley Children's Hospital in July.” While Mr. Lewis is going on a honeymoon, seeing as he got married during spring break. Lewis’s honeymoon will be a trip to Colorado to see the National Parks!

The Musselwhites are also doing fun stuff. Mr and Mrs. Musselwhite are going to Hawaii for a family vacation! Mrs. Musselwhite is excited about having a more flexible schedule and being by the pool, while Mr. Musselwhite is excited about sleeping past 5:30. And their children are doing sports and summer camps. Mrs. Musselwhite also says, “ I teach swim lessons over the summer, hang out at my pool when I am not teaching and read a lot of books. During summer break Mr. Woodcock’s oldest daughter is graduating this year! And for her graduation gift he is taking her to Tokyo for two weeks! Mr. Woodcock says, “ Once I return, I have to report with the Navy and work two weeks down in Fort Gordon with my Navy reserve unit.” Mr. Woodcock's other two daughters will be spending most of July in Canada with their family.
So in conclusion, this is what the teachers are doing over summer break. Some teachers are going far away like Tokyo and Hawaii. While some teachers are staying close and relaxing. So that is what the teachers are doing over summer break!
