Get ready for an exciting event at EJHS. Student Council has hosted the very first Walk-a-thon. This event was on May 8, 2026. You will see teachers walking on our football field, showing their favorite tattoos made by some students at EJHS. This is a chance to celebrate creativity and school spirit. We’ll come together as a community, making this very first Walk-a-thon a day to remember.
The walk-a-thon is when all the teachers (except five) go around the EJHS football field with the tattoo students paid to put on them. If you paid double, you got to pick where the tattoos go on the teacher you picked. This event took place on May 8, 2026, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, and we will follow a reverse 2-hour delay. The money will go to concessions to purchase food throughout the school year, Mrs. Buckles said, ¨We are using the money to go towards concessions for purchasing items for you guys and just other events that we might go throughout the school year¨. This year, it was on the EJHS football field.
There were multiple sports you could have done at the walk-a-thon, like volleyball, football, soccer, frisbee, and some girls were doing stunts, or you could walk around the track. There was a concession that had nachos, giant pickles, candy, lots of drinks, and all types of chips. But if you did get things from the concessions, you had to stay on the bleachers, and you couldn't go down on the football field if you still had food. If you didn't pay for a ticket, there were still things for you to do at the school, like watch movies and play games. Kendall Quackenbush states, ¨My favorite part of the walk-a-thon was hanging out with my friends and spending time with others.
In conclusion, the walkl-a-thon is helping the school in many ways, like paying for School concession stands, field trips, and other things the school might have to pay for. This gives students and teachers a way to have fun at school. If students don't go to the walk-a-thon, they will stay at the school to catch up on work and watch a movie.
