Kingston, Brakey Bay (Wolfe Island), and Thwartway Island (St. Lawrence Islands
National Park, Canada)
Diane and I (Steve) sailed from Sackets Harbor, NY to Collins Bay Marina, Kingston, ON. About 40 miles.
Wind Dancer at her slip at Collins Bay Marina.
We stayed here a couple of days--took the bus into historic Kingston, etc.
Since NE wind and storms were predicted we proceeded under power to Navy Bay, just E of Kingston.
On the way past Kingston.
Navy Bay is perfectly protected from the NE. It is also the home of Canada's Royal Military College, basically their West Point, on one side of the bay and Fort Henry on the other.

Fort Henry
Navy Bay. The first night we anchored here we were treated to a concert audible from Ft Henry
of the 1812 Overture, complete with cannons and fireworks. An annual event.
We stayed two days at Navy Bay before proceeding E to Brakey Bay, Wolfe Island. About 15 miles.

Brakey Bay
We stayed one day at Brakey and then proceeded to Thwartway Island (aka Leek Island) in the
St. Lawrence Islands National park and picked up a park mooring for three days.
Harbor at Thwartway. Dinghy landing and self-registration dock on shore.
Wind Dancer is behind the rafted power boats. They're only picniking and swimming for an hour or so.
Another of the Harbor
Diane. The island is a solid dome of beautiful pink granite. Thwartway is in the Thousand Islands. It used to be called "Leek Island" and still is on the charts.
We walked and hiked over most of the island. There is only one trail to a small bay
beach on the W side that is used by power boats picniking.
The West side is windswept and desolate.
Pan from West side of Thwartway.

We left Thwartway on a stormy morning. In fact it was windy and stormy most of the time we were there. There are five moorings in the harbor.
We proceeded up the St. Lawrence to anchor off Carleton Island, NY near Cape Vincent. (No pics)
Small island off Thwartway.
Shipping downbound on the St Lawrence. On our way to Carleton.
Then from Carleton back to Sackets Harbor. About 30 miles.
