Description of the Artifact:
This is a class journal entry from a course titled: School, Home, Community Collaboration. This prompt focused on a parent who was continually distracting the teacher from getting their students ready in the morning, as the parent wanted to drop off their child and talk to the teacher. The goal was to come up with an appropriate response to state boundaries.
Rationale:
Family involvement is always great and often needed, however, some parents/guardians take it one step too far and become a distraction when they want to see their child go into the classroom and talk to the teacher each morning. Communication is key in these situations and professionalism is even more important. Letting the parent know that they are taking away from morning work time but are always welcome to help when needed gives balance in the relationship.
