Danielson’s Framework:
Instruction
1e: Designing coherent instruction
Lessons and unit plans are well structured and flow from one to the next to support student learning and development.
Intasc Standard: #7: Planning for Instruction
The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the community context.
Description of the Artifact:
This is a kindergarten level water cycle lesson plan. The goal of the lesson plan is to help the students become familiar with the basic stages of the water cycle. Through hands on activities and group work, the students will have the opportunity to create a visual model of the cycle itself to associate images with the vocabulary.
Rationale:
In order to demonstrate coherent instruction, a lesson plan provides details to ensure the lesson not only covers the standard, but also each and every student in the class. The lesson plan includes differentiations for students by providing accommodation and enrichment activities. This will allow any and all students to succeed within their ability level and still meet the standard.
