Description of the Artifact:
This artifact was created in my language arts methods course. It is a week plan of vocabulary activities that corresponds to the book “The Storm.” Each day, the students will work on a different interactive activity that prepares them for their vocabulary quiz on the last day of the week. The vocabulary words were chosen directly from the book, so that students can become familiar with the words and have context for the meanings.
Rationale:
This artifact demonstrates the planning of instruction through a one-week plan of vocabulary activities. Each activity is a hands-on experience, so that the students have several opportunities to learn the words. Some of these activities are done in smaller groups, as a class, or individually. This allows the students to learn from each other, as well as to figure out what they need to work on individually.
