Description of the Artifact:
This artifact was created in my math methods course. I worked with a team to create activities for a mock family involvement night. Our theme revolved around candy, so this activity fits right in! This is a Skittles bar graph activity where students have to sort and count their candies to see which color has the most!
Rationale:
This artifact demonstrates the engagement of students in an activity that provides them with a hands-on method to work on gaining skills involving charting and graphing numbers. By involving candy, students will be more interested, and this can aid in their understanding since there is a motivator involved. By building up these skills at an involvement night, students are more likely to understand the information when it is presented in a fun way.
