Description of the Artifact:
This is a slide show created by a classmate and I during our exceptionalities course. It discusses the types of technology a student who is deaf or hard of hearing may need, as well as costs and other resources.
Rationale:
Disabilities are common in the classroom, which leads to the need for adaptations. Students who require these adaptations have unique needs, and as a teacher, it is imperative to know your students well enough to make sure they get the assistance they need. By incorporating assistive technology into your classroom, you are allowing your student to learn the same information as everyone else, but in a way that allows them to understand the material the best way they can. By using assistive technology in your classroom, not only can you help the students who rely on it but allow your other students to become acclimated to it as well and use it as a resource.
