080050 Honors Anatomy and Physiology - Grades 11, 12 (NCAA)
1 credit (weighted)
This course is designed for students who plan to attend a college or technical school in a field related to human health. It provides both a description of the structures within the different human body systems as well as the function of those structures. We will also explore how the structures work together to maintain homeostasis within humans, and what diseases or disorders can occur within the systems that can impair your health. Dissections of select organs will be used to complement the course materials. A culminating dissection of a fetal pig will also be performed to examine the relationships between all the systems studied. Participation in all the course dissections is required. Course evaluations are primarily based on tests, quizzes, homework, laboratory activities, and projects.
