Preparing your Device for a LockDown Browser Exam

You can reduce the likelihood of issues when using LockDown Browser by completing the steps below in advance of the exam.

  1. Restart your device when prior to taking the exam

Restarting your computer before the exam begins will ensure that your device is running minimal applications and connects to the correct building network.

2. Verify that you have the most current version of Respondus LockDown Browser

To avoid any delays due to an application update, you may want to complete this process the day before an exam.

For PC users

Step 1: Open Respondus LockDown Browser on your computer.

Step 2: Click the Information icon within the toolbar.

Step 3: A pop-up window will appear, click the Check for Newer Version button.

Step 4: If an update is needed, follow steps as directed.

For MAC users

Step 1: Open Respondus Lockdown Browser on your computer.

Step 2: Click the Globe icon within the toolbar.

Step 3: A pop-up window will appear, click the Check for update button.

Step 4: If an update is needed, follow steps as directed.
