Recording Videos in Zoom

Zoom is a video communications platform used for web conferencing, virtual meetings, and more. The Recording option in Zoom is an easy way to utilize the resources already available to you as a Nazareth University Student. 

Getting Started

To utilize the Zoom recording feature, the application must be downloaded onto your computer. To see instructions on how to download and make an account, go to the Zoom Student Accounts page. 

*If you are recording a meeting, please make sure to gather all participant permission*

Step 1. Create a New Meeting

Step 2. Prepare any video/audio/screensharing and press record

Step 3. Once you have completed your recording, press stop recording.

Step 4. A notification will pop up stating your video will be available as an .mp4 file after the meeting has ended. 

Step 5. End the meeting to access the recording

Step 6. Once the meeting has ended, the Zoom will convert the file into an .mp4. 

If Zoom asks how you want to save the file, select Local File

Step 7. The file will automatically open in your file organizer and it will be under a Zoom>"Date of Meeting/Time of Meeting"> "Zoom_0.mp4"

Note: The file can be renamed to however you choose, but please take care to leave it as a .mp4 file or otherwise it will not format as a video file.
