Joining a Zoom Meeting From your Moodle Course

Zoom may be implemented by your instructor to host classes and meetings online. If your instructor chooses to do so, the link for the meeting will be directly on your moodle course.

Note: As a student or participant, you are not required to create a Zoom account to join a meeting. If you wish to create an account to host meetings of your own, you can follow the steps listed in this Activation Guide to create a basic account.

Step 1: Click the Zoom meeting link.

If your instructor has chosen to create meetings, they will appear with the start time, the topic/name, Meeting ID, and a join button.

Step 2: Click the Join button on the appropriate meeting date and time.

Step 3a:  If you have not previously installed Zoom on your device, clicking Join will prompt another window to open which will then ask permission to download the zoom application. You will then be walked through the installation steps based on your device operating system (PC or Mac). Once Zoom is installed, you will be brought to the meeting room.

Step 3b: If you already have Zoom installed on your device, clicking Join will display a pop-up asking you to launch Zoom. Click Open to go to the meeting. Note: the pop-up appearance will differ based on operating system and web browser (example shown in Chrome on a PC).

Step 4: When entering the meeting, click Join with Computer Audio to enable the use of your microphone and speakers.

Optional: If you are unable to download the Zoom application or choose not to do so, you are still able to join the meeting by selecting cancel on the pop-up. After selecting cancel, the display will show the words join from your browser. Selecting this option will open the Zoom meeting on your web browser, but be aware that all functionality may not be available to you.
