Moodle Navigation
This page covers guides and how-to's for navigating Moodle. You can use the link navigation to the left to quickly jump to a specific section. Use the bar at the top of this page to go to a different page topic.
When accessing Nazareth's Moodle webpage, you will be prompted to log in (see Figure 1). Your log in credentials will be your Nazareth username and password.
Upon entry, you will land on the Dashboard (see Figures 2 & 2a), which serves as your personal home page and provides access to courses, as well as a number of links and other resources. Refer to the key below to learn more about each element and feature.
More information on the Block Drawer (see Figures 3 & 3a) is available below as well.

DASHBOARD KEY

A direct link to your Moodle dashboard, campus student service quicklinks, and Moodle help resources.
B. | Moodle User Account
User account settings for Moodle.

Contains important links to other Moodle and Campus resources.

Card view of currently enrolled courses; Can be sorted and search through to find specific courses.

Tools to show how many course cards are shown, as well as a way to flip through each page of loaded courses.

When clicking on a course in your Course Overview, you will be taken to that class's Course Page (see Figure 4). Moodle organizes course content by sections, with each new section indicated by an arrow or folder.
Instructors may title the sections by week, topic, or their own organizational scheme. The content in each section will also be determined by the instructor. Instructors are able to hide content from students. To open individual topics, click the arrow or folder next to the topic title.

COURSE PAGE(S) KEY
A. | Course Index
Opens a table of contents for the specific course.
B. | Course Links & Tools
Contains a direct link to the course page, a link to view all course participants, and a link to view your grades.
C. | WebReader Tools
Accessibility tools that have the course page and content read aloud to you.
D. | Topics
Sections, organized by the instructor, containing course content and assignments.
E. | Expand All
Feature that opens and/or closes all topic sections at once.
Moodle provides access to a custom Text Editor that can be used to generate content in course fields (see Figure 5). This advanced text editor can be used to adjust text formatting and insert media. The features found in the custom text editor are available in most fields where you will be asked to type the text as part of the activity. This includes text boxes within Assignments, Forums, and Quizzes. Refer to the key below to learn more about each element and feature.
Note: For some text editor features, you will need to select the text before the format change can be applied.

SYSTEM TEXT EDITOR KEY

Title and/or subject line of your message.
B. | Message Box
The content you wish to write.
C. | Undo & Redo
Undo and/or redo changes made.
D. | Font Settings
Font size, color, bold, italicized, and underlined.
E. | Paragraph Alignment
Left, middle, or right alignment.
F. | Indentations
Indent to the left or to the right.
G. | Lists
Bullet pointed and numbered list format.
H. | Links
Link or unlink the selected text.
I. | Attachments
Insert a photo, file, record an audio, record a video, and manage the attached files.
J. | More Text Formatting
Strikethrough, subscript, and superscript.

Equation editor, insert a character, insert a table, and clear formatting.
L. | Accessibility Options
Accessibility checker and screen reader help.
M. | Other
HTML coding and emoticons.
N. | Post to Forum
Submit the written text. Sometime this button will show as "Save changes."
O. | Cancel
Cancel the written text.
P. | Advanced
Opens the advanced system text editor, which includes all previous features and adds a section for clearer file attachment managing.
