Google Applications for Education

Nazareth University provides all of its students, faculty, and staff access to their own google account that can be utilized for email, storage,  scheduling, content creation, and more. 

Explore the descriptions and links below to learn more about the different google applications that are available for use as a Nazareth student.

Gmail: Gmail is the mail client used by all of Nazareth University. This application is used to send and receive email. It is also the username tied to the rest of the google applications such as google drive and google calendar. Gmail is extremely versatile and has flexibility to change the the view, filter certain emails, and creating folders to store important emails. 

Google Drive: Google Drive is a file storage system that allows you to sync information in multiple places over your google account. With your Nazareth Google Drive account, you receive up to 15 GB of free storage space, giving you plenty of room to store documents, photos, videos, attachments, and more. Drive can also be used to send files to other individuals or be accessed to turn in assignments in Moodle. 

Google Calendar: Google Calendar allows you to schedule events and appointments that can be shared with others. It has the capability to invite individuals to events, schedule appointment times, send email reminders, and even create virtual meetings. Google Docs: This is Google's web-based word processing platform that allows you to create different word processing documents such as papers, essays, flyers, posters, and more. Because google docs is accessed through your google account, it automatically saves and syncs. You can also share the document with individuals or invite them to edit it with you in real-time. Google Sheets: This is Google's web-based spreadsheet program that allows you to create, edit, and upload spreadsheets for use online. Because it is synced through your google account, changes happen in real-time, allowing you to access your spreadsheet(s) anywhere you can access your google account. Individuals can be invited to view or edit your spreadsheet in real-time so you can work along side them. Google Sheets is also compatible with Microsoft Excel and CSV formatted files. Google Slides: This is Google's web-based presentation program where you can create a visual representation of your presentation and store it through your google account. It allows you to share your presentation with individuals to view or edit in real-time as well as sync across your google account. Google slides is compatible with Microsoft powerpoint. Google Forms: This is Google's web-based survey administration platform that allows you to create questionnaires, quizzes, and surveys to gather information from users, where the answers are then reflected in a spreadsheet.
