How to add a file to Google Drive

If you have a file that is on your computer or flash drive, you can add it to your Drive by following the steps below. 

Note: If you are looking to upload a file from your mobile device, go to the "Upload a File from a Mobile Device" page

Step 1: Open your Google Drive (follow the steps here)

Step 2: On the left side of the page, click New.

Step 3: Select File Upload to select the file you want to add to your Google Drive

Optional: If you have multiple files to upload, you can select Folder Upload to upload the entire content of a folder

Step 4: Select the file you wish to upload from your computer. In the lower right corner, a pop-up will display when your file has completed the upload and is accessible. 

Step 5: Once the upload is complete, a green check mark will appear in the upload pop-up window. You will now be able to view the file in your drive. 

Note: If you right-click the file in your drive, an options pop-up will appear to view, edit, share, and remove the file.
