How to Add a Video Recording to a Discussion Forum Post

This guide will help you with adding a video recording to a discussion forum post. 

Please be aware that videos posted to the forum in Moodle cannot be viewed from an Apple mobile operating system (iOS), meaning from an iPhone or iPad. Videos can be viewed on any browser (we recommend Chrome or Firefox) on a Mac laptop/computer, PC laptop/computer, or an Android mobile device like a smart phone or tablet. 

Step 1: Login to Moodle using your MyNaz username and password.

Step 2: Click on the course name on your Dashboard to open and view the course. 

Step 3: Click on the title of the discussion forum to open and view the conversation. 

Step 4: Click Add a new discussion topic

Step 5: Click on the Record video icon

Tip: If you have trouble using the video recording tool, make sure you are running a current version of Chrome or Firefox! 

Step 6: Click Start Recording to begin recording your video. 

Note: The video will automatically stop recording after 2 minutes

Step 7: A pop-up will appear requesting access to your computer camera and microphone, click Allow.   

Note: the pop-up appearance will vary depending on your browser.


Step 8: Once you are finished, click Stop Recording. 

Note: The video will automatically stop recording after 2 minutes

Step 9: You can review your video before posting. Once it is ready, click Attach recording

Note: The box will close automatically, and it will take 30-45 seconds for your video recording to show up in the text box.

Step 10: Type in a subject for your post.

Step 11: Click Post to forum when you are ready to submit your post. 

Note: This is what your video will look like in the forum once you have posted it.
