There were only a few ideas presented and they were not fleshed out enough. Student should have presented a few more initial ideas and fleshed out the ideas they chose with much more detail.

I would rate this strand low.

According to rubric, the only required evidence for this strand is "annotated* evidence of concept modeling that indicates how the findings from modeling informs design development". Though the NBPS student has some annotations regarding the findings from modeling, they are quite minimal and not detailed. Student should add more annotations with more detail in order to express exactly how concept modeling informs design development.

I would rate this strand medium, as there was some analysis of models and outcomes that were used to guide design development.

One improvement

The student did not address the functionality of the final design/idea in comparison with the other designs/ideas. This is a very important aspect of the product and must be considered. By not considering it, NBP student is not properly justifying their decision. Student should add justification regarding functionality of product and add more annotations of features. The shape and color are not enough.

I would rate this strand medium.

The IBO sample Criteria A is better than the NBPS Criteria A.

The IBO sample score 6/9, while I scored the NBPS student as a 5/9
The IBO sample has a higher level of detail in every section of the Criteria B.
The IBO sample is more aesthetically appealing and is more substantive than the NBPS Student's Criteria B.
The IBO sample provided far better documentation and explanation for each design presented.

Even though I believe that the IBO sample was better than the NBPS sample, the NBPS sample did better in some areas

The NBPS sample documented and explained the iterative process used to select final design in a method that was superior than the method employed by the IBO sample.
