This week, I really didn't do much. I got acquainted with the class and I learned my monthly objectives. Then I began. My first project is the 3D Bust. So to do this, I took pictures of my grandfather and followed tutorial helping me used a software called meshmixer. I took the pictures on the iPhone app of 123 Catch. These photos created a 3D model of the photos taken. Pretty cool, right? So I uploaded this 3D model into 123D and then uploaded that file into Meshmixer for further modeling. In meshmixer, I used the select tool and selected everything I wanted to remove and took it all away. Then, I used the plane cut feature to get just the shoulders and the face. The plane cut feature is in the edit section. Then, I used to make solid feature in edit to make the model solid. After, I used some of the sculpting tools like the bubble/smooth tool to smooth the back and some of the hair. Then I was finished. I exported the file into a STL format. Then, I converted the file into a file readable by the printer. Currently, this bust is printing and I will let you know how it turns up.
