This second iteration of the project was harder than the first one since I had to think outside of the box for changes to make. In the end, I made the design nicer and made the game easier. In my last post, you will see that people had trouble playing the game because it was so big. So I scaled the design back to 2/3 of the size. The design looks smaller however it is still a nice design. I also took the styrofoam cup as the hoop and discarded it. I laser cut the hoop in this iteration. And I engraved the lines on the bottom as promised. I original promised to
After much consideration and weighing the cost and benefits of doing either one, I decided on which ideas to implement. I engraved the lines and engraved a hoop.
The bottom. If you look closely, you will see the engraved lines of the basketball court.
The front. You can see a backboard engraved on the cardboard if you look closely.
The basketball hoop. As you can see, it is laser cut. It is a relatively simple, however effective design.
The entire cardboard court. This was a hard project but I believe it is a good second iteration.
The first lo res model. Very basic. Nothing is aligned, the hoop doesn't look nice and it is too big overall.
My hi res model. It is much smaller, easier and a much cleaner design. The lines on the bottom are engraved and there is even a backboard.
Someone playing with my new model. It is still hard, but easier in general due to the smaller size and bigger hoop
