This project was a relatively easy one. I have 3D printed several iPhone holders and laser cut many as well. That is why this project was a pretty easy one for me. I am most proud of its simplicity. Most designs would be overly complicated however my design is very easy to build and wouldn't take long for the average maker. The inspiration for the design was actually the designs for this very project on the shelf. I was inspired by the designs. These designs followed the "less is more" ideal. I liked this and wanted to duplicate it in my design. I can refine the product by making it smaller. Most people have a very cluttered desk or nightstand and this product is very long and would take up too much space. When I first submitted the design, Mr. Moss said that it was a nice design however it could be perfected. He gave me some suggestions. He said to center the phone, add a hole in the back to pop out the phone and to decorate the holder itself. He also said that I should add my name to indicate that it's mine. After hearing these changes, I set out to refine my design. Since the design for the second iteration is very similar to the first iteration, the inch off the ground requirement and the snugness of the phone are both fulfilled.
First Iteration
Beginning of Design
The base of the design. It is very simple.
The part of the design that holds the phone.
Notice how snug the phone is in the design.

One of the requirements of this project was that the phone had to have been 1 inch off the ground at all times. As you can see, it would be.
Second Iteration
Added a nice design on the back
Added some hexagons on the bottom and the hole on the front.
Added my name on the bottom and engravings to indicate where I should glue the additional cardboard
